Flower Festival and Kim Chi festival 10/31

(Below: A cross-dressing man caked in make-up/face paint and probably wasted dancing in Korea).
In Korea, homosexuality is not tolerated nor understood. At festivals such as this one in my town, these acts are commonly seen and are not perceived to interfere with the strict gender roles and heterosexual traditions.

The Kim Chi festival was graced with beautiful weather. I spent about 2 hours there with Jung Jin where we explored (and tasted!) samples of kim chi from vendors, I made some kim chi (which was terrible), and viewed kim chi exhibits. I learned about the kim chi-making process, the storing processes, and it's history in Korean culture. Kim chi is just fermented vegetables, but the most popular is cabbage kim chi which is made with cabbage, pepper paste, and several oils including anchioves.
